FAQ

answers to your questions
What is Kite Escape’s vision?

Learning and teaching organized in such kite camps is in our opinion still not thoroughly established in the kiting community as a way to progress. Our goal is to help change that and make training camps become a more demanded trend. A way to learn a lot in a short period of time, having a great time in the most perfect environment with trained professionals.

What is the required riding level to be able to join the kite camps?

To join the group of coaching you need to be able to ride upwind in both directions and be comfortable alone with your kite.

If you are a complete beginner or you feel you still need some lessons and you would like to join us on one of our camps, we will be happy to have you! Get in touch and we will gladly organize your lessons.

A week of coaching with Kite Escape is also a great option for riders who don’t feel completely comfortable in new spots, don’t have a kite buddy to share kiting adventures with, and/or as mentioned, simply want to make remarkable progression in riding and tricks.

What is the required riding level to be able to join the kite trips?

For your safety and general enjoyment of the group we ask all the participants to be able to:

  • recover the board by body dragging upwind
  • ride toeside on a downwind course
  • relaunch the kite from the water
  • use the safety systems of your equipment
  • perform a self-rescue

If you are unsure of your knowledge and level, we’ll be happy to help. Ask us for a refresher prior to the trip, or join the kite camp to boost your level, and get to where you want to be.

How many people are there in a group on a kite camp/trip?

We limit the coaching groups to up to 8 people. This way we are able to dedicate our attention and focus to each individual rider.

On the trips the minimum number of participants is 2, and the maximum 7. This way we can keep it fun, personal and safe.

Is it possible to rent equipment?

All the centers we stay at have equipment available for rent. Let us know what you need and we’ll be happy to book it with them for you.

If you are in the process of buying new gear and seek some advice, contact us and we’ll try to help you out.

What languages are spoken?

We primarily organize the coaching weeks in English and Spanish, however we all speak a few other languages.

If in doubt, please get in touch and we’ll see what can be done.

What if I need to cancel?

The amount of refund can vary, depending on how many days before your booked departure we receive your cancellation notice, and are a percentage of the total cost of your booking. Please see our Terms and Conditions, or get in touch, and we will be able to serve you with exact information.

Should I get travel insurance?

Travel insurance as with any other trip is essential. The next link will take you to a list of some companies that also cover kiting in their policies:
